Sony Channels Removed from Hathway
Are you tuning in to watch your favorite shows on Sony Channel or Sony SAB, only to find a blank screen or an error message on your Hathway Cable connection? You are not alone.
Millions of Hathway subscribers are currently facing this issue. Here is the exact reason why Sony channels have been removed from your Hathway set-top box.
Why Are Sony Channels Removed from Hathway?
The sudden blackout of Sony channels on Hathway is due to an ongoing pricing and high carriage dispute between Hathway Cable and Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI).
When the contract between the broadcaster (Sony) and the cable operator (Hathway) expires, they must agree on new pricing terms under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) guidelines. Because both parties failed to sign fresh RIO 2026 on the new channel rates, SET India restricted Hathway from broadcasting its channel signals.
List of Major Affected Channels
Because of this dispute, you will not be able to watch any channel under the Sony Pictures Network. The most popular blocked channels include:

When Will Sony Channels Come Back on Hathway?
Disputes like this are very common in the DTH and Cable TV operators. Both Hathway Cable and Sony are currently in negotiations. Once they agree on the new pricing terms and sign a new agreement, the channels will be automatically restored to your TV screen or Packages. Until then, you do not need to reset your set-top box or call your local cable operator, as this is a backend network issue.
