9 Channels Removed from DD Free Dish

Most Popular Channels of Zee Media Corporation India are now removed from DD Free Dish Set Top Box due to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting withdrawing the permission to uplink channels from GSAT-15 at 93.5 east Ku Band Satellite. These 9 Channels was running Free to Air FTA in DD Free Dish Mpeg2 and Mpeg4 set-top boxes as long and Zee didn’t buy any slots for these channels in the Prasar Bharati’s e-auction and they Prasar Bharati lost around 100+ Crores. The I&B ministry said in an order that the Zee network has breached its uplink and downlink rules that helps them access vast audiences on DD Free Dish. This is Lifetime’s free-to-air satellite television provider owned and operated by Public Service Broadcaster Prasar Bharati.

The channels are Zee Punjab Haryana Himachal (Punjabi), Zee Salaam (Urdu), Zee Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh (Hindi Regional), Zee Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand (Hindi Regional), Zee Bihar Jharkhand (Hindi Regional), Zee Delhi NCR Haryana (Hindi Regional), Zee 24 Taas (Marathi), Zee 24 Kalak (Gujarati), and Zee Rajasthan News (Hindi Regional) which was uplink from GSAT-15 (same DD Free Dish) satellite and not used any encryption on this channels to give easily free access in DD Free Dish.

Now All these channels have been shifted to SES-8 Satellite at 95* east and converted to MPEG-4 from MPEG-2 by Dish TV and applied Conax encryption on all channels. Now only Dish TV and Zing Super FTA Box (Dish TV variant) users can get these channels and DD Free Dish, viewers will not be able to watch them. The New Frequency details are 12727 V 32700.
