Prasar Bharati to Launch DD Sports HD channel
Prasar Bharati (Public Service Broadcaster) is planning to expand its high-definition HD channel portfolio with the launch of its First HD Sports channel named “DD Sports HD” in India. All other Private Broadcasters such as Sony Pictures Network, Disney Star India, and Discovery already run both Standard Definition SD and High Definition HD channels in the Sports Category but Doordarshan is still far behind in launching its existing DD Sports channel in HD Feed.
DD Sports is an Indian sports TV channel owned by Doordarshan, which is a public service broadcaster in India. DD Sports broadcasts various sporting events, including cricket, football, hockey, tennis, and more. It aims to promote and showcase sports activities across the country, often focusing on national and international tournaments involving Indian teams and athletes.
Currently DD Sports HD channel is under Testing on the DD Free Dish in place of the DD News HD slot in MPEG-4 Frequency: 11630 V 30000 in phase. Once the channel is ready to Launch it will be exclusively available for DD Free Dish subscribers for some time and later they will come in other DTH and Cable TV Platforms. Some inside source coming that channel will be launched before Asia Cup 2023.
