Four Big Broadcaster Channels may comeback on DD Free Dish?

Most demanded Hindi General Entertainment channels “Zee Anmol“, ” Star Utsav“, “Colors Rishtey“, and ” Sony Pal” is planning to come back on Lifetime Free Direct to Home DTH service “DD Free Dish“. DD Free Dish is a Free DTH service run by Prasar Bharati Doordarshan and launching new channels via e-Auction policy. In April 2022, All Four Big Broadcasters such as Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Sony Pictures Networks, Disney Star India and Viacom 18 Pvt. Ltd. removed their most watched channels from DD Free Dish due to some reasons.

Now they again planning to join DD Free Dish services and improve Advertising Revenue and GRPs of channels because only DD Free Dish subscribers watch these Entertainment channels and other DTH subscribers have a max number of choices as private DTH gives 500+ TV channels and services while on DD Free Dish it has only 176+ channels so users don’t have many options for their choice. Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Colors Rishtey, and Sony Pal show re-run content from their paid Hindi GEC siblings.

Broadcasters know that if they do not bring back all four channels on DD Free Dish then they have to shut down these channels due to loss as many viewers are shifting to DD Free Dish for Free Entertainment and some customers shifting from Paid DTHs to OTT Streaming Apps. Right Now, DD Free Dish doesn’t have any vacant slots in MPEG-2 Frequency so they have to wait for some time or maybe DD Free Dish bring new slots for these channels.
