Why Sony Channels Removed from Tata Play Packs
The customers of Direct to Home DTH operator Tata Play are wondering why all their Sony channels have been removed from All the Base packs. A common customer, after recharging for ₹300 to ₹600 per month, expects that all the channels he watches will be provided in his pack, but Tata Play has said that they are removing all the Sony channels from your base pack due to lack of demand for SPN channels. On the other hand, Sony Pictures Network is not agreeing with his decision.. They say that if there is a lack of demand for Sony channels, then an audit should be conducted so that the clear situation can be revealed to everyone.
We would like to inform you that since last 1 month there is a dispute going on between Sony and Tata Play DTH regarding money due to which all the channels of Sony have been removed from the package and to make up for this, Tata Play has also reduced the prices of all its packages so that the customers do not have to bear the burden, but Sony wants that Tata Play should pay the pending amount on time and our Sony channels should be re-included in the customers’ package. This matter is also going on in TDSAT and Bombay High Court. As soon as a decision comes from there, it will be clear whether your Sony channels will be included back in the package or not.
Until a final decision is taken, you need not panic. You can still watch your favourite Sony channels by subscribing to Tata Play DTH on an ala carte basis. To watch Sony channels, you will have to pay the subscription of each channel. Suppose you want to watch Sony Max 1, then the price of that channel is ₹ 5 per month, so according to this, you will have to pay the price of that channel and 18 percent GST, after which that channel will be added back to your package.
