Big Magic channel is going to shut down
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Private Limited and Sony Pictures Networks decided to sell three existing television channels to other broadcasters and shut down their operations due to address possible anti-competition concerns arising out of their proposed mega-merger deal. One of the channels “Big Magic” is going to be shut down by Zee, and Sony and become part of another broadcaster. They submitted their proposal to the Competition Commission of India (CCI), which cleared the deal subject to certain modifications on 4th October.
Currently, Broadcaster has not revealed yet which broadcaster can buy Big Magic and another two channels. Big Magic was launched in India by Reliance Broadcasting Network in April 2011 and later it’s acquired by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Private Limited in 2016. Once the channel is shut down, it will not be available for all Direct to Home DTH, Cable TV, and IPTV Services. Big Magic is available on All DTH and Cable TV services.
