DD Free Dish Launches New R1 Bucket for Regional Channels
Prasar Bharati invites Channel Applications for DD Free Dish 67th online annual e auction for vacant Mpeg2 slots for the period of 1st April 2023 to 31st of March 2024. In this e-Auction DD Free Dish launches New R1 Bucket for All Regional Channels participation such as South India, and North East Language channels i.e Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Assamese. Earlier R1 Bucket was available for Spiritual and Devotional channels but this time they shifted Spiritual and Devotional Catagory to Bucket D.
DD Free Dish wants All Language channels on their platform because they don’t have much reach in South India as not a single private channel is available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Prasar Bharati decided to give a chance to every language channel and informed that “If a particular Indian language is represented on DD Free Dish by any channels under Bucket
R1 for 2 years continuously then that concerned language shall be deemed as represented and it shall be shifted from Bucket ‘R1 ” to Bucket ‘D’ from next 2024.
