JioStar to shut down 11 Channels
JioStar Network has decided that they are going to shut down a total of 11 of their channels in India. Before the merger of Reliance Jio with Disney, it was decided that after the merger, they will shut down some channels whose TRP is not increasing significantly. The channels that are going to be shut down also include many major channels that we would not have expected such as MTV Beats, Comedy Central etc.
Recently, in the new Reference interconnect offer released by JioStar, it has been clearly stated that they are going to shut down a total of 11 of their channels from March 15, 2025. Apart from this, they are also going to convert their Two Hindi General Entertainment channels from the pay category to Free to Air FTA.

- Comedy Central (English GEC)
- Comedy Central HD (English GEC)
- VH1 (English Music)
- VH1 HD (English Music)
- Colors Odia (Oriya GEC)
- Bindass (Hindi Music)
- Star Kiran HD (Oriya GEC)
- Star Life (Lifestyle)
- Star Life HD (Lifestyle)
Two Pay channels which are going to become FTA from 1st April 2025 onwards such as Sony Pal (Hindi GEC), and Colors Rishtey (Hindi GEC).
