Star Sports 1 Bangla is going to shut down

“Star Sports 1 Bangla” is a sports channel in India that primarily broadcasts cricket matches and other sports-related content in the Bengali language. The channel is a part of the Star India network and is available on various cable and Direct to Home DTH platforms in India. It provides live coverage of various cricket tournaments, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), international cricket matches, and domestic tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy and the Duleep Trophy. Additionally, the channel also features sports-related talk shows and highlights of matches. Now Broadcaster has decided to shut down Star Sports 1 Bangla channel.

Star Sports 1 Bangla is going to shut down with effect from the 15th of March 2023 onwards and will be removed from All DTH and Cable TV Platforms from the same day. Star India is not interested to run this channel for longer due to the West Bengal audience watching Star Sports 1 (English) and Star Sports 1 Hindi more than Star Sports 1 Bangla, so they are not getting high ratings from the Bengali audience and hence they decided to shut down this channel along with Star Sports 1 Marathi which as Never launched in any of the DTH or Cable TV platforms.
