Azaad TV shut down from Broadcaster end
Newly Launched Free to Air FTA Hindi General Entertainment channel “Azaad” has been shut down from the broadcaster end. This channel was specially launched for Direct to Home DTH “DD Free Dish” subscribers to give the best content to the audience but unfortunately channel lost its presence and hence channel has been shut down in India. Azaad TV was available on DD Free Dish, Tata Play as well as some cable TV platforms.
Azaad TV channel was launched in April 2021 and within one year channel has been shut down due to not getting TRPs from the audience. This channel also showed some popular serials from other channels and also telecasted some original shows but did not get a better response, especially from DD Free Dish users because DD Free Dish subscribers focused more on Zee Anmol, Star Utsav, Sony Pal and Colors Rishtey serials.
Azaad TV not get TRPs and the highest revenue from the advertisements and then they decided to shut their channel because they were not able to pay carriage fees to DTH, Cable TV platforms and salaries to own employees. On 10th August channel has been shut down and removed from GSAT-30 C Band.
