SGPC to Launch a Satellite TV channel for Golden Temple Live

A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has met the Information and Broadcasting (MIB) Minister Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur in Delhi under the efforts being made to establish its own satellite channel for Gurbani broadcast from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. In this delegation, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, S. Kulwant Singh Manhan and S. Sarwan Singh Kular was involved. Apart from this, Union Minister of State Mr. Som Prakash was also present on this occasion.

Giving information in this regard, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that after the Shiromani Committee started its own digital youtube channel, now efforts have also been started to establish a satellite television channel. Primarily the concerned Union Minister has been informed so that the process can be completed soon. He said that there has been a long-standing demand of the Sangat for the establishment of the TV channel, which the Shiromani Committee is committed to fulfill.

Advocate Dhami also said that our effort is to reach the maximum number of people on Doordarshan’s “DD Free Dish” after establishing our channel. He said that this feeling has also been shared with the Union Minister and he has assured to take the action forward with serious consideration. He expressed the hope that the Shiromani Committee will establish its own satellite channel in the near future.
