Sony Pal on DD Free Dish from 1st Dec 2022
Sony Pictures Networks signed an agreement for the launch of the Re-run Hindi General Entertainment Channel “Sony Pal” on Lifetime’s Free Direct to Home DTH service “DD Free Dish“. Sony Pal participated in 63 pro-rate basis e-Auction which was held on 18th of November 2022. Sony Pal is going to be available on DD Free Dish platform with effect from 1st of December 2022 onwards.
Sony Pal was available on DD Free Dish till April 2022 but later they did not participate in DD Free Dish Mpeg2 e-Auction due to some reasons now they again participated in 63 e-auctions for 4 months and it will be added to DD Free Dish from 1st December in Mpeg-2 slot till 31st of March 2022. Every subscriber needs to auto-scan or blind scan their set-top box to view this Channel on 1st Dec 2022. Sony Pal has some good libraries of SET India and Sony Sab channels such as CID, Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah, Tenali Rama, Encounter etc.
When the big broadcasters decided to quit the DD Free Dish platform, they completely knew that they had taken a big risk of losing subscribers and ad revenue through this decision. Broadcasters knew that if they did not bring back their channels on the platform, then they may have to shut down these channels, Now many customers are shifting to DD Free Dish for lifetime free entertainment and paid DTHs are moving towards OTT platforms.
