Star World and Star World HD Shut Down in India
Star World is an English General Entertainment television channel that is primarily dedicated to airing American television shows and movies. It is owned by Disney Star India Private Limited and broadcasts in several countries in Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.
Star World is known for airing popular American TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family, and The Big Bang Theory, among others. The channel also produces original content, including talk shows and reality TV shows such as Coffee with Karan, etc. Now Star India has shut down Star World and Star World HD in India due to not getting high ratings from the audience.
Star World and Star World HD have been shut down by the broadcaster with effect from the 15th of March 2023 and removed from all Direct to Home DTH and Cable TV Platforms. Star World was launched in India in March 1991 and after 32 years the channel has lost its Presence due to many customers opting for OTT subscriptions and avoiding watching TV channels. It was available on Dish TV, Tata Play, d2h, Airtel Digital TV, and Sun Direct but now every subscriber will not be able to watch it starting 15th march.
